D. Luís I Bridge

Designed by Eng. Teófilo Seyrig, disciple of Eiffel, inaugurated in 1886, it is constituted by two iron trays superimposed. It is 395 meters long and 8 meters wide, and its arch is still considered the largest wrought iron arch in the world. At the moment the upper board is occupied by one of the lines of the Metro of the Great Port, connecting the zone of the Cathedral in the Port, the Garden of the Hill and the Avenue of the Republic in Vila Nova de Gaia.
